Liam Brennan

MSc Student

Liam Brennan is a wildlife photographer and researcher. Drawing from a variety of experiences, Liam has worked with government and NGOs to produce evidence-based research and management recommendations. During his undergraduate degree at UBC, he worked on a global review of wildlife overpass structures and the characteristics that favour their success. He is passionate about applied conservation research that explores strategies for human-wildlife coexistence on a rapidly changing planet.

As a photographer, Liam leverages his multidisciplinary expertise to communicate complex environmental issues and inspire meaningful change. His images help to communicate his persistent fascination and love for the people and wildlife that share our world.

With the Davies Lab, he will be using ecological modeling to understand changes in marine predator habitat use in the Bay of Fundy. More specifically, his work will explore recent climate-induced oceanographic regime shifts and their impacts on key prey species of zooplankton, and how these changes may be related to the presence of North Atlantic Right Whales, Red-necked Phalaropes, and Basking Sharks.
