In 2020, Delphine Mossman graduated summa cum laude from Stony Brook University (SBU), NY, with a Bachelor of Science in Marine Vertebrate Biology and Applied Math and Statistics. In her fourth year of undergraduate school, as a member of the Honours College, she wrote an honours thesis about the current state of Pacific salmon populations in the Pacific Northwest, using the 1998 book Song for the Blue Ocean as a springboard.

 

     She is currently working toward a Master's degree in biology in the Davies laboratory at the University of New Brunswick. Her research project involves a novel method of using a glider-mounted echosounder and hydrophone to track and monitor endangered North Atlantic right whales and their prey.

 

     Her research interests also include cetacean communication and conservation, and how they are affected by noise pollution from anthropogenic sources.
